The most dangerous effect of the law of attraction/name-it-and-claim-it/ word of faith movement is the mind-control aspect, which convinces you to only have positive thoughts lest you manifest or attract something negative with a negative thought.
This mind control will not allow you to admit that you have problems to yourself, to others, or to God. Admitting problems is considered negative, and you are taught that this negativity will attract other problems. So you always go around saying that “everything is fine,” even when it’s not. This makes your relationships with everyone, especially with God, superficial and not real.
Ultimately, this mind-control of “positive thoughts only” does not allow you to understand your sinful nature, your need for repentance, and your need for Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
It’s normal to have negative thoughts. We shouldn’t dwell on them, but everyone has negative thoughts, and we are not God that creates with our thoughts, no matter how many false teachers say otherwise. Those false teachers are wealthy because they sell books and seminars about how to manifest with your thoughts. They didn’t actually get wealthy and successful from their thoughts. They got wealthy and successful by selling so-called secrets to wealth and success. It’s a pyramid scheme.
The book of Psalms teaches us how to process our emotions, by pouring them out to God. If you’re upset, which is a very normal emotion, read the book of Psalms for comfort and solace.
