Why Psychic Readings are Dangerous

Psychic readings seem to be all about love and light, yet they’re actually dark and demonic when you examine their underbelly. When you talk to a psychic, you’re having a conversation with a demon who’s speaking through her. That demon is cunning and evil and will mix in accurate information with lies designed to lead you away from the only One who can save your soul: Jesus.

Psychics normally operate by tuning into their thoughts, feelings, visions, and auditory senses. Once the psychic session begins, the psychic relays all of the impressions that she’s receiving to her client, hoping that the client finds the messages meaningful.

The psychic is a mediator between her client and the spirit world. Most of the time, the psychic doesn’t understand the meaning of what she’s hearing, seeing, thinking or feeling during the session.

In addition to observing their own thoughts, feelings, visions, and words that they hear and relaying their impressions to their clients, psychics also use divination methods. Each one of these methods are condemned in the Bible as a spiritually dangerous attempt to gain knowledge outside of God.

Since God never contradicts Himself, it’s impossible for God to approve of or to help psychic readings. He also doesn’t listen to “prayers of protection” that psychics say prior to their sessions, because God can’t condone sinful behavior. Sometimes God disciplines us by allowing us to experience a hardship during a sinful activity, in order to make us aware that we need Him and not the condemned practices.

God doesn’t just condemn divination practices, but also the people who do divination as we see in Deuteronomy 18:9-12. When I understood this, I walked away from the new age in 2017, and have been begging people not to use my old cards which some people continue us to sell despite my asking them not to.

Jesus died for our sins, including divination, sorcery, witchcraft, astrology, polytheism, and idolatry. Why would we want to be involved in anything for which our Lord and Savior suffered and died?

God’s condemnation extends to the psychic’s clients as well as the psychic. Anyone involved in these practices – whether as a client or as a psychic – is a detestable abomination to God (Deuteronomy 18:12). They need to repent and turn to Jesus – who died for the forgiveness of our sins, who was buried as prophesied, and who bodily rose from the grave – while there’s still time.

Nothing in the new age is worth delaying running into Jesus’ arms for salvation.
